Office Highlight: LGBT Center

Image of a Performer at an LGBT Center EventWondering what it’s like for LGBTQ+ and allied students at Ithaca College? The sole focus of the LGBT Center and its director, Luca Maurer, is to support our LGBTQ+ students. Ithaca College is home to a vibrant community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, queer, questioning, asexual, and allied students, staff, and faculty. Each year we host speakers, films, events, Pride Prom, Pride Shabbat, our popular Drag Show, and more. Resources and support are available for all students at the LGBT Center.

Find out more from their website, or contact Luca Maurer at lmaurer@ithaca.edu. Follow the center on social media to get the most up-to-date news!

IC Tradition: AppleFest

Image of Students at AppleFestThis annual Ithaca tradition is one of our favorites! In September, more than 200 vendors and thousands of residents will gather in downtown Ithaca to celebrate all things apple-related. Among the treats you can buy are apple maple bacon muffins, apple grilled cheese, and—of course—apple cider doughnuts. The festival also features carnival games and live music.

If you missed last week’s conversation with Teesh Stewart about student employment, check out our Instagram highlights or the Orientation website.
