Important Update Regarding Dependent Benefits Attention parents of young adults. If you have a dependent that you cover under the Ithaca College dental, vision, or dependent life insurance plans, between the ages of 19 and 25, Please read the important message below.
Employees who cover dependent children between the ages of 19 and 25 who recently graduated, or are no longer a full-time student, must update their dependents full-time student status with the Office of Human Resources using the Dependent/Contact Update Form. If your dependent is no longer a full-time student, and you do not update their record, you could be paying for dental, vision, and dependent life insurance coverage that is not in effect. Coverage under the Ithaca College dental, vision, and dependent life insurance plans for recent graduates or those not returning to full time study will end September 1, 2024. Dependents may continue coverage under COBRA, but they must complete the COBRA paperwork that will be mailed to your home address on file.
If you have a child 19 years or older, that will be a full-time college student this fall, and you are not receiving education benefits, please update your dependents record by completing the Dependent/Contact Update Form and include a copy of the student's tuition bill or schedule, confirming their full-time student status.
Enhancements to Our New Employee Onboarding Program Launched
Based on feedback from new employees, exit interviews, and our HR Effectiveness survey, we've made enhancements to improve the onboarding experience of our new employees.
Our goal is to help new employees feel welcome, confident, and ready to succeed by getting them up to speed with our College culture, policies, procedures, and benefits. To achieve this, we're adding three new sessions to the current onboarding program.
These new sessions are designed to ensure new hires feel supported and integrated into our community right from the start. Please include these additional sessions when developing your new employees' onboarding plans for their first month.
The three additional sessions cover:
1. Information Technology
2. Benefits and Payroll
3. Policies in Practice
Invitations to the additional onboarding sessions will be sent via email to each new employee after they attend their new hire orientation.
Thank you for your support!
