Staff Development Opportunity
The Center for Health Promotions and the Office of Human Resources are excited to be partnering to offer Motivational Interviewing training for Ithaca College employees. Motivational Interviewing is especially beneficial for individuals that work with students as they navigate challenges such as building connections, resolving relationship concerns, academic or career path concerns, time management, building healthy routines, and more. This training will equip participants to help the student problem-solve and find solutions that are achievable for them.
Beginner/Intermediate Training (6 hours total)
March 13-14 from 9:30 am-12:30 pm in Clarke Lounge. In this interactive training, participants will learn the underlying spirit, structure, and principles of Motivational Interviewing.
Advanced Training (3 hours total)
March 14 from 1:30-4:30 pm in Clarke Lounge. During this interactive workshop, participants will briefly review Motivational Interviewing basics, then learn about change talk and methods of eliciting, followed by learning how Motivational Interviewing overlaps and integrates with other therapeutic or coaching methods. This course may be eligible for participants to submit as Continuing Education Credits based on the trainers’ certifications and licensure.
