FOLLOW @ICRESLIFE IC Tradition: Taughannock Falls State Park Did you know that the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River is located just a short drive from campus? The waterfall plunges 215 feet—that’s taller than Niagara Falls! The best part? The hike to the base of the falls is relatively flat and only 0.75 miles. Across the street is a beautiful park along the Cayuga Lake shoreline that offers swimming as well as picnic and barbecue facilities. LEARN MORE ABOUT TAUGHANNOCK FALLS Welcome to Progress: Time Management Professors recommend that you spend 2 to 3 hours studying and preparing outside of class for every hour you spend in class. That means that more of your education is under your control than it was in high school! Incoming students say the shift in schedule and personal time management is the single greatest challenge in their transition to college. Study your own learning habits to understand which college tasks and subjects take the most time and which you need help with. The reading load is different and will vary from course to course; this catches some students by surprise. But the more you know about how you learn, the more you can increase your knowledge and skills to successfully meet any challenge in any subject. New Student Chat Don’t forget to tune into our Instagram—@ictransition—every Thursday for our New Student Chat series. This week we will speak with student athlete Warren Watson about time management and being on an intercollegiate team.
