STAR Interview MethodMaybe you are preparing to interview for summer jobs, maybe you are searching for something longer term, or maybe you are not thinking about employment at all and that is ok. When it comes time for interview prep, the STAR technique is very helpful, and something that I myself have used quite a few times! STAR stands for: situation, task, action, and result, which can help you answer behavioral interview questions (those that focus on your past work) while highlighting your strengths and how you’ve overcome past challenges. Check out this website for more information about the STAR method and some examples of how it can be used. The Office of Career Services also has tips for preparing for an interview, including setting up a mock interview with a member of their staff!
