As of the latest report, we have achieved 85% employee completion rate for the mandatory NYS Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Prevention training. If you have not completed your training, please take time to complete it today. We are requesting the support of our supervisors to ensure all members of their teams complete the training as soon as possible so that we reach our goal of 100% compliance by Friday, February 4th, 2024. We all play a role in the significance of ensuring a safe and respectful work environment for everyone. Let’s make sure we all do our part!

Updates on 2024 Annual Performance Review Process
We are gearing up for the Annual Performance Review process and wanted to share important updates based on the valuable feedback we received. Acknowledging the challenges highlighted in the feedback, we have made enhancements to ensure a more positive and productive experience for both staff and supervisors. Here are the key changes for 2024:

Timeline Adjustments: To address concerns about May being a busy period, we are starting the performance review process earlier. This allows for reviews to be completed before May, easing the workload during that busy month.

Enhanced Training: Building on your feedback, we are enhancing training programs. This includes continued training on submitting performance reviews in the HR Cloud and new additions such as training on effective review writing, conducting performance conversations, navigating difficult conversations, and celebrating successes.

These changes are a result of a collaborative effort between Human Resources and the Staff Council Redefining Performance committee. Our goal remains to make the performance review process a more meaningful experience. We aim to recognize successes, offer constructive feedback, support professional development, and collaboratively set goals for the upcoming year. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to excellence. We look forward to your active participation in making the 2024 Annual Performance Review a success.

Celebrating the Impact of Staff Development Funds on Professional Growth
We’re excited to share an update that reflects our commitment to supporting continuous professional development by using the College’s Staff Development Funds. So far this fiscal year, we have invested over $25,000 in staff development funds by supporting IC staff participation in 42 events, ranging from conferences and webinars to leadership programs and symposiums. These numbers underscore our belief in the power of education and the value we place on ongoing development of our Ithaca College staff.

Staff development funds may cover all or a portion of the registration fees for professional development opportunities. Some examples include but are not limited to, job related conferences, training sessions and new certifications. It’s important to note that these funds do not cover travel and other expenses, so those costs should be budgeted for by the individual departments. Before registering for any program and applying for funding, please consult with your direct supervisor for approval.
