Submit your photos You Belong HereHave you ever felt a huge amount of pressure to not fail, had a fear of being “found out,” or feeling like you aren’t deserving of the success you’ve achieved? Trust me, you are not alone! There are many factors that can be a cause for these feelings, including imposter syndrome. Harvard Business Review defines Imposter Syndrome as “a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success.” People who face imposter syndrome often suffer from self-doubt, despite how successful they are. This can take on many different forms depending on the person, but ultimately it may lead to added pressure to avoid failure, anxious thoughts, or a lack of self-confidence. Many people have felt this way before, including former first lady, Michelle Obama. We want you to know that you belong at IC, and we are here for you. If you are struggling with your thoughts and interested in seeking support, please reach out to a faculty or staff member, or consider making an appointment with the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services. Make An Appointment Job Seekers – Check Out These Resources! The Office of Career Services has resources, guides, and sample resumes and cover letters on their website to help students! They also offer appointments with Peer Career Advisors for help on cover letters, resumes, job & internship searches, interview prep, graduate school, and general career support.
